About the Journal

The Journal of College of Languages and Communication Arts Education (JOCOLCAED) is a publication of the College of Languages and Communication Arts Education, Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Oto/Ijanikin, Lagos, Nigeria. The Journal is a prestigious academic publication that focuses on advancing research and scholarship in the field of English and French Studies: Language and Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures of the English-and French-speaking countries. The journal therefore provides a forum in which scholars working within any subfield of English and French studies can address a cross-section of the field. As a Bilingual/interdisciplinary journal. It serves as a platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various disciplines within the humanities to share their innovative ideas, theories, and insights. The journal publishes both online and in print with Direct Object Identifier (D.O.I)

CALL FOR PAPERS

 Instructions to Authors

  1. To submit manuscripts, you need to create an account on the journal’s webpage https://jocolacae.com/index.php/pub/login. Follow the current (6th) edition of the MLA Handbook or Chicago Manual or APA style.
  2. Manuscripts must be in both Microsoft Word.Doc. and pdf files
  3. Manuscripts should not exceed 7,000 words, including abstracts and references
  4. Manuscripts may be written in English, French, Arabic, Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa, double- spaced, including quotations and references and in 12- point Times New Roman font.
  5. Titles must be in bold, 14-point Times New Roman font while sub-titles remain 12-point, bold and initial letter cap. All abbreviations and acronyms should be written in full at first appearance in the manuscript text.
  6. All manuscripts must include a brief but captivating abstract which should not exceed 200 words and should describe the scope of the work, methodology, theoretical framework, and the findings. The abstract should also include a set of 5 keywords (preferably in pairs) listed in order of importance to assist in indexing the article.
  7. Manuscripts must not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

SPECIAL EDITION IN HONOUR OF ALAGBA ADÉBÁMBỌ̀ JOSEPH RÓTÌMÍ

The Journal of College of Languages and Communication Arts Education (JOCOLCAED) is a peer-reviewed international journal of College of Languages and Communication Arts Education which publishes articles on wide range discourses in English, Yorùbá, Igbo, Hausa, Literature, Linguistics etc. This particular issue is a special edition dedicated to an erudite Yoruba scholar, Alàgbà Adébámbọ̀ Joseph Rótìmí who retired from the services of the University on the 26th of August, 2023.  This edition attracted contributors from universities and colleges of education across Nigeria. With a collection of Language and Literature experts as Editorial Advisory Board members, this edition published well researched articles written in English, French, Yorùbá and Igbo. We are committed to publishing scholarly papers in the subsequent editions of the journal in order to sustain the culture of high impact research in our effort to continue to contribute to knowledge in Language, Literature and Linguistics.
